on Rumson Road (CR520) over Shrewsbury River

Bridge Channel Width Open to 37.5 Feet as of Friday 9/20/24 at 7 P.M.

The Shrewsbury River navigational channel width under the bridge will be open to 37.5 feet due to construction of the new bridge. The channel will remain at this half width from Friday, September 20, 2024 through Friday, October 25, 2024. During this timeframe, passage for marine vessels under the Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge will be available through the eastern half of the channel. The western half will be closed.

The US Coast Guard (USCG) approved the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 schedule for full and partial channel closures necessary for installation of the new bridge spans. Please see the Public Notice Update – 9/20/24 for full and partial closure dates.

All dates are subject to change based on weather conditions and production factors.

Any schedule changes or impacts to river and roadway traffic will continue to be posted to the Travel Advisory page of this website.
