Channel Information Update – 2/21/25 Revision

Mariners should be aware of the following revised schedule for travel under the Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge. Dates and times are subject to change based on weather conditions.

  • As of 2/21/25, the horizontal clearance of the navigational channel under the bridge is 75 feet.
  • The channel is scheduled to be fully open for marine traffic on Saturday 2/22/25 until 6 a.m. on Monday 2/24/25 with horizontal clearance of 75 feet.
  • As of 6 a.m. on Monday 2/24/25, only the western half of the channel is scheduled to be open for travel with horizontal clearance of 37.5 feet.
  • If wind conditions prohibit work on Saturday 2/22, the contingency plan is as follows:
  • The channel will be fully open in the late afternoon on Monday 2/24 until Tuesday morning 2/25/25.
  • As of Tuesday morning 2/25/25, only the western half of the channel will be open for travel with horizontal clearance of 37.5 feet.

Schedule changes or impacts to river and roadway traffic will continue to be posted to the Travel Advisory page of this website.

The US Coast Guard (USCG) approved the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 schedule for full and half channel closures necessary for installation of the new bridge spans. Please see the Public Notice Update – 11/8/24 for anticipated full and half closure dates.
