Mariners should be aware of the following channel and bridge opening information for travel at the Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge:

  • NO BRIDGE OPENINGS – 4/25/25 – 5/1/25
The western half of the channel under the bridge is scheduled to be open for marine travel with horizontal clearance of 37.5 feet and vertical clearance of 15 feet at Mean High Water (MHW)/18.5 feet at Mean Low Water (MLW).
  • NO BRIDGE OPENINGS – 5/1/25 – 5/8/25
The channel is  scheduled to be fully open for marine travel with horizontal clearance of 75 feet and vertical clearance of 15 feet at MHW/18.5 feet at MLW.
  • HALF CHANNEL BRIDGE OPENINGS – 5/8/25 – 5/22/25
One span, either east or west, will be in the down position on an as-needed basis, and the opposite half of the channel will be open with horizontal clearance of 37.5 feet and no vertical restriction.
  • The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has jurisdiction over the navigational channel. USCG has granted permission for the partial closures of the channel and for the temporary deviation from normal drawbridge operations. Monmouth County must comply with the dates approved by the USCG.
  • Dates and times are subject to change based on weather conditions and production factors.
