Channel Open Until 10/21/24

The Shrewsbury River navigational channel under the Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge is scheduled to be open at the full width of 75 feet with no restrictions after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024. The full width will be available to marine traffic until Monday, October 21, 2024.

As of 6:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2024, the channel will be CLOSED to all marine travel. There will be no bridge openings.

After 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, the channel is scheduled to be open at half width (37.5 feet) until 7 p.m. on Friday December 13, 2024. The western half of the channel is anticipated to be available for marine travel during that time.

Dates are subject to change based on weather conditions and production factors. Any schedule changes or impacts to river and roadway traffic will continue to be posted to the Travel Advisory page of this website.

The US Coast Guard (USCG) approved the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 schedule for full and half channel closures necessary for installation of the new bridge spans. Please see the Public Notice Update – 10/10/24 for all full and half closure dates.
