The temporary channel width reduction previously noted for late summer is now anticipated in the Fall of 2022.
Notice had been given in May that bridge replacement construction activity in the Shrewsbury River will require the existing navigational channel width be reduced from 75′ to 65′ for an estimated 12 months.
- The 65’ navigational channel will continue to be open to mariners.
- The bridge operator will instruct vessels, as is currently done, during this period when the channel is reduced by 10’ in width.
- The existing bridge will continue to be open to vehicles and pedestrians.
Potential impacts to river and roadway traffic due to construction activity will continue to be posted to the Travel Advisory page of this website. Information may also be found at USCG Local Notice to Mariners.
